META: The backlog's gone, and then some

I've burned through all the backlog I built up. Worse yet, I'm beginning to lose faith in my ability to do nightly blogging. I'm going to give it another hard try, though...

I think part of it is that I got too ambitious: tried to do a bunch of serious, large-scale writing. For now, I think I'll limit myself to about 200 words per entry, so that I can keep the workload manageable. This may mean the occasional 15-part series. Whatever.

The bigger cause of my slackage, though, is that I'm the busiest I've been in a long time, and that's saying something. I had early meetings all week last week; this meant that writing late into the night was not such a good plan.

Concommittant with this is that my sleep cycle has been hosed. It's been a long time since I've been able to sleep for 8 hours, even given the opportunity. I've spent the last couple days coming down from a massive caffeine overload—especially reprehensible considering "the doctors" have told me not to use the stuff. Putting back on 30 pounds in the last 6 months hasn't helped my sleep apnea any, for sure. Plus, you don't get that fat with a regular exercise program.

Anyway, enough whining. The point is, I've fallen down on my blogging commitment. Now I'll pick it up again. I'll make it work better this time.
