While I was working on catching up some stuff here at home this evening (Friday 7:30PM), I answered the phone. After a long silence, a woman informed me that her company was doing a political research survey and launched in…
I nearly hung up, because I hate it when the caller isn't ready by the time I answer the phone, but I figured I had time for a few questions. "How long is it expected to take to complete the survey?" "This is very short, sir." Followed a couple of questions on a hypothetical "Ballot Measure A."
Fifteen minutes later, as my querent started on "Ballot Measure G", I was becoming pretty ticked. "I thought you said this was short. How many questions are left?" "I believe this is the last one, sir."
When the nice lady started in on "Measure H", I politely explained that I was unhappy with being deceived twice, and would not be completing the survey. Then I hung up.
Just now, twenty minutes later, the same woman called me back. "Excuse me sir, I have just three more questions…" (B)
