This is a review of the first few minutes of the first episode of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It contains a spoiler—indeed, it spoiled the whole series for me—so please don't read beyond the break if you want to keep some badly-written TV SF fun until you see it for yourself…
I kid you not. The "writers", if you can call them that, chose to start their series by showing a Terminator robot killing John Connor and defeating Sarah Connor, then proclaiming the future theirs. But don't worry—at that point, Sarah Connor wakes up.
If there's any more hackneyed, worthless, abuse-of-the-viewer's-trust plot device around, I don't know what it is. I decided I didn't need to see any more of the series at that point.
