Our first cat, Sylvie, died yesterday of kidney failure. She was 19 years old…
Joanie and I got Sylvie and Bruno, both long-haired females, soon after we were married. The cats followed us through most of the phases of our adult lives. Bruno, a calico kitty, died of cancer a few years ago.
Sylvie was a beautiful gray and white kitty. The runt of the litter, she nonetheless managed to stay healthy well past the normal cat life expectancy. She was a scaredy cat around strangers for many years, but got over it after Bruno's death. Sylvie was quite affectionate. While she often complained in various ways, she generally seemed to be happy, sleeping or playing.
Joanie gave Sylvie a good home, and our whole family loved her dearly. We miss her immensely. (B)
