Interesting Links

By vote of the majority of those responding to the FOB poll, I am logging some links I find interesting and think you will here. This list will grow slowly over time. Let me know what you think of it.

• BartForge This is a site where I keep source code to my small projects under an open source license. Only fun if you're a hardcore geek, but then maybe it will be cool for you.
• It's Magic! There's a lot of sites claiming to be the Cave of Magic, but as far as I can tell the one linked here is by the original author. I like his original version better, though. This is my favorite web magic trick.
• M*A*S*H Note: Larry Gelbart, a principal writer for the TV series M*A*S*H and the author of the episode The Interview, writes some dialog for it long after it's over. Link courtesy Paul Gadzikowski of Arthur, King of Time and Space.
• Ian's Shoelace Knots: Everything you could ever want to know about shoelace knots. I've been using his secure knot for some time now, and it's changed my life—no more untied shoes.
• Heavy Boots: One of those Usenet stories that started with an identifiable seed and grew. Please see the comments section here for the origin of this true tale.
• The Story of Mel: A Real Programmer is a classic tale. I prefer the linked prose version to the "free verse" version that came later. Wikipedia has more information.
• The Legend of Blind Carbon Copy is a terrific example of the Usenet Oracle (later the Internet Oracle) at work. Read and learn.
