Driving North on Interstate 5 into Portland to go to work, and fiddling with my new Bluetooth headset. Suddenly, about 20 yards in front of me, a giant tank truck filled with who knows what goes swerving from the rightmost lane into mine. The car ahead of me slams on the brakes, and I eventually react and do likewise. The truck recovers, and lurches back into its lane, then pulls over to the side of the road.
I drive by in a cloud of black, acrid tire smoke. I don't see any sign of the reason for the sudden swerve, although I supposed I'd venture blown tire if I had to guess.
Can't remember the last time I came so close to being involved in a multi-car high-speed freeway accident. Guess the Good Lord still has plans for me. (B)
