Valley of the Canadians

If I recall correctly, it was Ryan North over at Dinosaur Comics who pointed out the other day that For Better or For Worse online now has a new feature: creepy blinking eyes. I too find the effect highly "Uncanny Valley"—of all the things I miss about animation in my webcomics, I don't think blinking eyes was ever on my list. Friend of Bart

Creeeeeeepy, like having a waxwork dummy wink at you. It's a comic strip; you don't expect motion, especially not isolated motion like that.

The only other place I've seen blinking characters is Homestar Runner. But there it is expected, since it is Flash animation.
